I know what everyone's probably been thinking - that I've dropped off the face of the earth. Not true, I promise! It's just that I've been mostly working on things I couldn't post yet. Most of it is still waiting for permission and is likely to take a while. (It's good stuff, I swear! I'm all excited and stuff. :) )

Anyway, here's a little something that I was graciously granted permission to post by the person who commissioned it.

For the people who've been asking about the status of Eversummer Eve and wondering if it's ever going to restart, the answer is...yes, sort of, but not as such.

That told you everything you needed to know, right?

Essentially I realized the story was meandering off into directions that weren't the story I'd originally intended to tell, and it was looking like it was going to spiral out of control. So, having been inspired by the webcomic "Drowtales"'s successful re-imagining of itself into a new and much better form, I'm doing the same for "Eversummer Eve". Some of the characters (like Alasdair) will stay essentially the same. Others will undergo minor changes, while others will change radically as I tighten and redefine the story concepts. The story concept itself will hopefully be new enough to not be a simple repeat of what I've already done, but will keep the feel of the old Eversummer Eve story. At least, that's the goal.

Overall, so far I'm pleased with the revamp, and I hope everyone else will be too.

I've no idea yet when I'll be able to start posting it. I'm still working out the revised foundations of the story, never mind getting started on actually drawing it. But hopefully it'll be in the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled!

Oh - thanks for the return watch! Now I'm very happy, too! ^_^
I just finished reading the Eversummer Eve archives and wandered over here.

I really like your work.

Thank you! As it turns out, Eversummer Eve was something like a first draft of the project I really want to work on, and am in the process of developing. So even though that version is no longer being written and drawn, I hope you will enjoy the second draft, which I'll make sure to announce when it's ready to see. :)
Great! I will look forward to it. :)

Now this is going to be an oddball question, but PLEASE tell me we'll be seeing you at ACen 2009!

Hi Xaila! Yes, I'll be at ACen, but this year I actually will not have a table in the Artist's Alley - on purpose. XD It's been something on the order of seven years since I really got to get out of the Alley to see the con, and I can tell it's all changed around my ears, so this year I want to stand up and stretch and have a look around. You know, actually *see* the con again. ^_^ I'm sure we'll bump into each other at some point!
Considering the crowd I roll with (you can't miss us, really) - we'll definitely bump a few times! Heck if you dare - you can come with us when we make the trek to Chinatown for dinner ;p

Wow, thanks for the compliment! Now I'm all squeefull because I've been a big fan of your since, like, '03 or something from reading Eversummer Eve! Which I just reread and loved again. Although I am REALLY excited about this news of your re-imagining. It'll be awesome to see how it comes out! And, well, in the mean time, your gallery rocks. :D
